Vinod* and his grandfather live in a village in Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu. Working in a petrol bunk, Vinod earned enough for their day-to-day needs. Two years ago, he was badly injured in a road traffic accident. He came to CMC for treatment, surgeries and physiotherapy. Sadly, this cost him his job. Understanding his dire financial situation, our medical team housed him at CMC’s Chatram, covering the costs of accommodation and food. Chatram (meaning Shelter) is an abode for many poor patients like Vinod.
Located 400 meters from CMC’s town campus, Chatram provides safe accommodation and a sense of community (at less than US$ 1 per day). With 22 rooms and 4 dormitories with shared cooking and bathing facilities, the financial burden on a family is greatly reduced.
Chatram breakfasts are sponsored by generous friends and well-wishers. Your gift of ₹10,000 will feed 70-75 members of our Chatram family for 5 breakfasts. Will you join in?
PS. Gifts to CMC are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. Donate before 31st March to avail of tax deduction.
